Welcome To The First Annual AHCF NC Walk!
Saturday September 18, 2010 9:30am-1:30pm Silvermont Park Brevard, NC
The first annual AHCF NC walk is a fun filled day at Silvermont Park in beautiful Brevard, NC. We have activities for all ages. We will kick off the morning with a 5K run for our serious runners. Registration begins at 9am, and the race starts at 9:30am. Then for those who like to take it slow we offer a leisure 1.5 mile walk with registration at 10:15am and the walk at 10:45am. There is also a kid’s fun run, a cake walk, DJ, clowns and face painting. Hope you will come and enjoy the fun. (No pets please)
What Does the Walk Fund?
The mission of the Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood Foundation (AHCF) is to find the cause(s) of AHC and effective treatments or cures while providing support to the families and children with AHC. It is a nonprofit organization run by parents of children with AHC to help fund research currently underway in the United States. The foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization.
The search for the genetic cause is slow and painstaking, costing millions of dollars annually.Research continues to progress at Harvard, UCLA, and the University of Utah.
Who Will Benefit?
All proceeds from the walk will go to the AHC Foundation to assist with funding medical research, covering expenses for children with AHC to participate in clinical trials, and educating both the medical community and the general community about AHC.Help us get the word out!
